Thracian Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Kevin O'Brien 6.5 (Excellent parry to safety from a long range drive, coped well with one challenging cross but otherwise just routine bits and pieces which he dealt with flawlessly) Lee Cox 7 (Very crisp in the tackle, marked tight and stayed well involved) Joe Cobb 6 (Posed a few problems but coped soundly enough) Fraser Tuttle 6.5 (Worked hard to restrict Blackburn's capable midfield. One or two important blocks) Scott Garner 6.25 (Not often I've seen him enjoy a clean sheet at centre-half. Solid contribution) Lathaniel Rowe-Turner 6.25 (Threw himself in when necessary and stayed strong) Craig King 5.5 (Nothing of great note. Seemed less impressive out wide than when I've seen him play as striker) Steven Howard 6 (Helped Tuttle limit Blackburn's forays) Billy Kee 6 (One assist, some nice touches but his shooting was way off his best) Ashley Chambers 6 (Closed down with great enthusiasm and made a chance or two but his control let him down and he never looked a great threat) Robbie Burns 7.25 (Took his goal coolly and winning goals are priceless. Stayed well involved) sub: Luke O'Neil (Sound replacement for Craig King).
BedsFox Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 So Chambers was "saved" for this rather than being involved at Ipswich? Strange. no?
Thracian Posted 13 December 2007 Author Posted 13 December 2007 So Chambers was "saved" for this rather than being involved at Ipswich?Strange. no? I can't fault Holloway for trying Kaebi instead of Chambers. The experience wouldn't have harmed Chambers but I don't think he looked especially threatening in his first team outings and you certainly wouldn't have picked him out as first team standard in tonight's Youth Cup outing.
