davieG Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Because my ears are somewhat fooked I sometimes have to rely on subtitles when watching the TV, normally this is ok for recorded programmes but when it comes to live ones like the News or Sport, because they use voice recognition it can lead to some hilarious misinterpretations> Some examples Football: Sam Allardyce as Sam Anodise or Sam Malone dies He sees (seized) the yellow card He was rested (arrested) on Monday for this game A loverly riser = I love Riise News: On the recent fires in California instead of 'wild fires' driving people from their homes it came up with 'Wild Flowers' On recent report on encouraging more recycling offering 'Free Sacks' came up as offering 'Free Sex' Made me smile anyway
