Katy Posted 17 March 2005 Share Posted 17 March 2005 Can someone answer me this, why the hell do most 'English' celebrate St Pats Day when they couldn't give a rats ass about their own Saints Day?

Guest Posted 17 March 2005 Share Posted 17 March 2005 Is it St Patricks Day? I hadn't noticed..... As JR says, it'll be the drink. Roll on April 23rd, it should be made a Bank Holiday, if you ask me!

Katy Posted 17 March 2005 Author Share Posted 17 March 2005 my sound thick but why? 79822[/snapback] This is precisely my point - everyone seems to know when St Pats day is but ask your average English Joe on the street when St Georges Day is, they havent got a fecking clue! Its perfectly clear you arent allowed to be English anymore since the far right seem to have taken over. Bloody disgraceful, im English I want to be able to say im English and I want to celebrate St Georges Day without being thought racist!

shen Posted 17 March 2005 Share Posted 17 March 2005 I guess it's because most people like the welcoming friendly and charismatic Irish people...it's one helluva party in just about every Irish pub in the world today!

I find it staggering that our old neighbours would decorate their house with Red and White flags any time the Engalnd football team played, and as for when the rugby team won the world cup you couldn't move for bunting! However, St George's Day, nothing.

Newcastle_Fox Posted 17 March 2005 Share Posted 17 March 2005 St Georges Day is on my birthday so I always celebrate it well, I am a proud english man! It should be a national holiday, not only because its my birthday!! This year going for a themed pub crawl though am struggling to decide on a theme. Thought of so far: Cowboys Indians Police Robbers Mexicans Pirate Can anyone think of anymore to help me decide?
