Thracian Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 We may be serially disappointing on the pitch but tonight's sporting dinner at The Walkers featuring Liverpool legend Jan Molby and comedian Jimmy Bright was one to remember. I chose it as a 40th birthday present for my eldest son and we ended up bruised with laughter. It really was a job to know who was funnier, Molby or his Cheshire-based friend and comic Jimmy Bright. In attendance were 60's legends Mike Stringfellow and Richie Norman, the incomparable Steve Walsh, Ally Mauchlan and snooker ace Willie Thorne among a few others. It was staggering in that company and in those surroundings to think we are seriously contemplating life in the third tier of English football but somehow the evening helped convey the seriousness of the situation. Everyone was talking about it. They were almost in a state of shock.
