purpleronnie Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 Just watching MTV2 Storytellers and listening to PJ sing 'Alive' its such an incredible uplifting song that it still gives me goosebumps 17 years after I heard it for the first time. This band are just incredible. Dont want to sound like an arrogant **** but I want my rock bands (or dare I say indie) to have a point, have a message, I cant stand bands who are so called indie or rock who have nothing to say and just sing relationship songs, sorry but if I wanted to listen to that I can listen to kylie minogue.

I have never liked Pearl Jam I am afraid, they just never appealed to me they just come over as slightly Monotone American Rock something I infact despise, they just don't for it for me. however we can't all be the same and it would be boring if we were
purpleronnie Posted 23 March 2008 Author Posted 23 March 2008 TBH I wish I hadn=t posted this its a little embarrassing. I'd had a couple of beers . Most american rock bands especially the new ones are just terrible but PJ are different the catalogue speaks for itself but unless you were there at the start I think it will be hard to get into them. Monotone they arent but hey like you say if everyone liked the same band it would be very boring. But I stand by my point about rock/indie bands should have a point, a message an opinion.

I was there at the start and actually purchased a copy of 10 on the day it came out!!! just didn't really enjoy it as much as other albums at the time or since. I do agree with bands having a a message or a point though.
