Ric Flair Posted 23 March 2005 Posted 23 March 2005 With the transfer window closing tomorrow (I think??!!) I wonder wther we'll see a new player coming in. Levein has hinted he's still looking and with Stewart out now, we could well do with a new left winger. These brazilians won't have long to impress if they want to play for us this season, infact how do we plan on signing them with the work permit problems??? Don't they have to play 75% of their national teams games within the past year? or hold a european passport? The latter option seems the only feasible way we'd be able to sign them. I think it's time Mr Partridge stepped forward and i'm not talking about the man with the fat back in the travel tavern from Norwich.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 March 2005 Posted 23 March 2005 I'd be surprised if we sign them. Who remembers Sascha Lenhart? Isaac Okoronkwo... Magnus Kihlstedt... Edwin Ouom... It's not usually worth getting worked up about foreign trialists. I don't think we'll sign anyone else but who knows.

SilverFox Posted 23 March 2005 Posted 23 March 2005 Sorry chaps and chapessess...no more signings Levein
Who ate all the pies? Posted 23 March 2005 Posted 23 March 2005 might still get a loan deal! Also these brazilians could still sign after the transfer deadline, providing they don't have a club. It's all to do with right to work and a player who is without a club can join a team even after the transfer deadline...I've forgotten how I know this, I just do!

I don't like Maybury playing there, and I would prefer to keep Tiatto left wing. I suppose Levein has Morris and Wilcox coming back, and therefore seems unecessary to make such a move. If Tiatto hasn't recovered in time, what Levein might want to do is adopt a narrow 4-4-2, a bit like how Ipswich play. 3 central midfielders, with a winger on one side (Gillespie in this case). Hughes or Williams could play left sided, but more tucked in. Allowing someone like Tiatto at full back to bomb forward down the left. We did this earlier this season with Gudjonsson or Nalis occupying a left sided position, with Stewart at left back. Although, it can leave the left side vunerable.
