Guest Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 If Coca Cola aren't making anything, then why are they trying to encourage people to enter as many times as possible by introducing a league table? It might not be costing you to enter, but somewhere along the lines, they're benefitting. Businesses do not give money away.

But the more exposure it has the more people would want to buy it!

Benji Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 there is a lot of publicity firstly for their product for people that dont drink it secondly they will be thinking on the basis of a sponsor they want to show people they care about the leagues and so such a thing as this can only put them ahead of competitors for next season or whenever the contract runs out
Guest Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 I might be being cynical here, but I suspect there are tribes of people who live in the rainforests, thousands of miles from 'civilisation' who have heard of Coca Cola! The corporation spends millions on advertising, so I don't see this exercise as helping to increase sales based on further exposure. Agree that it's likely to be the texting thing that is making money for them. Is there any indication of how many entries in total have been received? That would be quite interesting.......
