Lazza Posted 3 April 2005 Author Posted 3 April 2005 Your dead right, Stearman has been empowered his confidence has not taken a knocking, and why is that????????? 87013 Because STEARMAN seized HIS OPPORTUNITY. Ther'es an old latin saying 'EVERY MAN IS THE MAKER OF HIS OWN FORTUNE'. Stearman understood that on the weekend. Stearman had a choice - fail or survive. He chose to be a winner. His coach didn't do that for him. He could just as easily have chosen the alternative. It would have been much easier for him - especially when he saw how other players around him were performing.
Lazza Posted 3 April 2005 Author Posted 3 April 2005 Could it be that he is being nurtured by a team of professional coaches and managers that know what they are doing? 87013 IF THE COACHES AND MANAGERS KNEW WHAT THEY THEY WERE DOING THEN THIS CLUB WOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR THE RELEGATION ZONE !!
Lazza Posted 3 April 2005 Author Posted 3 April 2005 Werent some of these players once rated above Stearman??Is the club developing properly and giving them positive vibes? Apart from Richard I dont probably think so. 87053 Vo, maybe Stearman got his chance only because he's a local lad. He's the same age as young Weso. But young Weso is a better all-round player than both Stearman or Dawson. Dawson or Weso could have been given their chance at right back too.

Also Stearman played there earlier in the season & played well

Guest Posted 4 April 2005 Posted 4 April 2005 Ther'es an old latin saying 'EVERY MAN IS THE MAKER OF HIS OWN FORTUNE'. 87282 Actually, it's "Est unusquisque faber ipsae suae fortunae"; yours is in Engish.

Chimp Posted 4 April 2005 Posted 4 April 2005 Calm down Lazza... CL has made his intention quite clear to play some new faces and youngsters in the first team once we've picked up some more points. Until such time as we're safe from relegation, don't expect to see CL try any untested players, especially if there's a regular first team player available.
step Posted 4 April 2005 Posted 4 April 2005 If Stearman had let himself and the club down he would have lost confidence and it would take time for him to overcome the doubt about his own ability. Lazza, you are right 'EVERY MAN IS THE MAKER OF HIS OWN FORTUNE'. But there is nothing wrong in getting a little help along the way. But you are totally wrong to blame CL and his team for the state the club was in and our position in the league

Has he been here 6 months and seen us touching the relegation hotzone. So no blame at all for CL.Give me a job like that if you can Step. All credit if things are rosy and no blame if things are bad.
Lazza Posted 6 April 2005 Author Posted 6 April 2005 What would you have done that was different 88053 step, How do you explain the situation the club's in ? Is it the fault of the manager, the coaching staff, the players, the directors ? Or is it just bad luck ? How do you explain the fact that many of the players who are on 10,000 per week prefer to get a tan while on the field rather than give 100% effort, while the youngsters with ability play in the academy team and basically get ignored. How will you convince yourself that this club is headed in the right direction next year or the year after if you lose young players with abundant ability to stronger clubs because they are willing to encourage and play youth ?
Vo Rogue Posted 6 April 2005 Posted 6 April 2005 What would you have done that was different 88053 For one I would have taken Dawson off the bench and given him the last 5-10 minutes in a game around Xmas/New Year instead of bringing on Gemmill.I think we were up in that game and won it.An opportunity for an experience for Mr Dawson, instead we got to see Gemmill and realise again how bad he can be.As if we didnt already know that.
