Darlington are putting former Leicester City midfielder Usman Gondal through his paces.The teenager has been released by The Foxes after not being deemed good enough to break into the first team. Gondal came through the academy set-up at The Walkers Stadium and has also featured for the club's reserves. In February, he trained with Walsall but failed to clinch a deal with the League One outfit. He has recently been released by Leicester and is spending this week training in the North East with Darlington. Gondal had a solid game for The Quakers' reserves against Lincoln City in midweek and will wait to discover if he has impressed manager David Hodgson sufficiently to earn a contract for next season. To be honest i'd be suprised if he made it at League 2 level from what i saw of him in the academy.
