foxesfan69 Posted 1 April 2005 Posted 1 April 2005 On Teletext it says that Celtic have signed a new keeper. Forgot his name but maybe this means that the rumour on here a while back that Rab Douglas is joining City. A good goalie and a more than able replacement for Walker IMO
foxesfan69 Posted 1 April 2005 Author Posted 1 April 2005 Celtic and Aberdeen are reported to be ready to battle it out for Belgian goalkeeper Erwin Lemmens The 28-year-old seems set to leave Espanyol in the summer after the club decided against offering him a new deal. The Belgian has fallen out of the first team picture with the Primera Liga outfit following the arrival of Cameroon international Carlos Kameni. Kameni has firmly established himself as the club's number one with a string of eye-catching performances and Lemmens is keen on a move away for regular first team football. Norwich City and Southampton were linked with Lemmens during the January transfer window, but now Celtic and Aberdeen are believed to have joined the chase for his signature. Reports emanating from Spain suggest that Scottish duo Celtic and Aberdeen are monitoring Lemmens's situation. Celtic could be in the market for a new goalkeeper in the summer, with Rab Douglas's contract due to expire at the end of the season and Magnus Hedman's long-term future at Parkhead still uncertain. Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood is searching for a goalkeeper, as he is short of options between the sticks at Pittodrie and would like to land Lemmens on a free transfer.
