Head Honcho Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080617/tod-...at-7f81b96.html I spent some time in South Korea and soon realised that dating in Korea isn't as straight forward as it first seems. Koreans are forbidden to marry anyone with the same surname and with Lee, Park and Kim making up half the population it can get quite tricky.

If that rule came in here Bad times for me. I have a rather unusual surname and therefore the pool of potential brides would be severely restricted Good times for my wife who wouldn't have had to marry me and who would have kept her own comparitively straightforward surname Good things about the Korean system - no need to apply for new passport or driving license Bad things - increased risk of inbreeding
Rincewind Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I thought it said they couldnt marry anyone with the SAME surname. So the potential brides would increase for a rare name.

skinnydipper Posted 17 June 2008 Author Posted 17 June 2008 no wonder this guy has joined an online agency! Nice one but life can't be so bad that you're surfing meetup.com for Korean males
