Stirling Albion fan from up here in Scotland, started following your results since levein moved there as manager and you having a couple of scots in your line-up.

Anyway just wondered what you think of the scottish players williams and hughes? Is Hughes getting played on the wing now? Ask that as a few of you guys say he delivers a good ball or does he just take the corners? Its good that some of you guys rate him as he was never getting anywhere with rangers, some say he was too weak. Is williams still a centre mid? Also what do you think of Levein as a manager?

Cheers, great forum.

Thanks for joining :D

Hughes has really impressed me and people have already started to compare him to the legend that is Muzzy Izzet. He doesn't usually play on the wing, it's just that Levein changed it today I feel as Gillespie played twice last week for his country.

Williams, yes he does still play centre midfield, but he hasn't really impressed me that much to be honest. Hasn't really done much whilst he's been here. I can say for sure that he has improved as a player!

BTW this is just my opinion :D

He's been frozen out under Levein... he seemed enthusiastic and full of promise, but he hasn't gotten a chance yet, and might not get it here... <_<

He was great towards the end of last season, but then unfortunately picked up an injury. This season he hasn't had much of a look in, either by Micky Adams or Levein. He started the first 2/3 games under Levein, and looked very good imo. He is composed on the ball and looks good going forward. I would definitely like to see him back in the frame but that doesn't look likely anymore. He spends most of his time playing for the reserves or the under 18s. :(

Williams is a bit hit and miss. He looks fantastic in patches and tries to create things, but on the other hand he often gets caught in possession because he wants too many touches or he thinks he has more time on the ball than he actually does. His corners are also erratic - yesterday was the perfect example. 2 of his corners in the 2nd half were floaters straight into the keepers hands. He also goes 'missing' when the game turns scrappy, and was anonymous in large parts of yesterday's game.

Hughes is an ace signing, he works hard is creative and draws in players one of our better signings, without a doubt

Williams and Hughes are perhaps the most talented players we have in the squad, along with Connolly and Stearman. Both are technically very good and provide that creative spark in midfield.

I think Hughes is starting to settle in now. Unfortunately, I missed the Millwall game, but by all accounts he was on top form, despite being played out of position. My only concern is that both Williams and Hughes are too similar for my liking. I don't think you can play both players in the same midfield in a 4-4-2 line up, unless you sacrifice a winger.

I've been impressed by Hughes, he's played well since signing for us.

As others have said, Williams has the potential, but drifts in and out of the game too much.

Canero? Who's he then? ;)
