FilboFox Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Does anyone know if he is actually going... at the moment, he just seems to be talking to them... As for Pre-Season, Pearson may have just been trying out Gilbert at the back to see how he is and then may choose Chambers over him when it comes to the start of the season? Either way, I think we should keep him but it may be that Pearson think's he isn't good enough... and he would know with Taggs and Walsh now... a formidable defence coaching staff I would imagine.
teblin Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Hopefully a goalkeeper and two full-backs then, if Chambers is going anyway. I's guess it wil be a left back a keeper and a forward. Kish can play right back, so i guess he and one of the younf lads will be back up for Gilbert if chambers goes.
MikeyT Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 FROM SSN Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll is hoping to complete the signing of Leicester defender James Chambers early next week. The 27-year-old has held talks with the Doncaster manager and watched Friday's 5-0 home defeat to Bolton from the stands. Chambers joined Leicester on a free transfer from Watford last season after turning down an improved contract with the Hornets. O'Driscoll is hoping to finalise the deal this week after Leicester gave Rovers permission to speak to the defender. Experience He told the club's official website: "James has travelled up to chat. He can play in that sort of utility role that Paul Green gave us. "He can play anywhere along the back four, has had lots of Championship experience, so we are having a talk with him and seeing where that leads. "He's with Leicester City at the moment and Leicester have given us permission to speak to him and that is what we are doing. "He won't be spending a few days with us, he's a proven Championship player and if we can move it anyway forward over the weekend, then we will. "If not, then we will make a quick decision over James."

Fox in a Box Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/ bye bye Defender James Chambers has today joined Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract at newly-promoted Rovers only a season after signing for the Foxes from Watford. He made 27 appearances for City last term in what was a stop-start campaign for the full-back. However, following the Foxes relegation, Chambers has exercised a release clause in his contract, allowing him to leave. Chambers began his career at West Bromwich Albion as a trainee and signed professional forms in 1999.
