Anyone gone through this process (solicitor) or even worse trying/tried to find a bar pupillage?

I can't even get a mini-pupillage, so don't ask me.

Meanwhile, the resident "can't do owt wrong for trying, sitting on a first and would have to balls up seriously to end up with a 2:1" has had three offers for a training contract.

I think there lies your answer.

I have 6 assessment days coming up, I'd rather i just had an offer instead of humiliating presentations and rejections

It's a 2 year contract with a firm of solicitors which you are required to complete in order to become a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
