Kilworthfox Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 When watching the match this week I was wondering where the players 1st clubs were! I find it interesting that some clubs produce many stars and others who are big clubs produce little English Talent even with mass scouting & training facilities 1 David James - Watford 2 Wes Brown - Man Utd 3 Ashley Cole - Arsenal 4 Gareth Barry - Brighton & HA 5 Rio Ferdinand _ West Ham 15 Jonathan Woodgate - Leeds Utd 6 John Terry - Chelsea 7 David Beckham - Man Utd 19 Jermaine Jenas - Nottm F 8 Frank Lampard - West Ham 17 David Bentley - Arsenal 9 Jermain Defoe - West Ham 21 Emile Heskey - Leicester City 10 Steven Gerrard - Liverpool Joe Cole - West Ham 11 Wayne Rooney - Everton 18 Stewart Downing - Middlesborough I understand that some players are injured or not picked so to be far, I will include them.... Young - Watford Richards - Man City Agbonlahor - Aston Villa G Neville - Man Utd P Neville - Man Utd Owen - Liverpool Ashton - Crewe Alex Crouch - Portsmouth I find it interesting that "Premier clubs" like Newcastle, Bolton, Blackburn, Hull. Fulham, Tottenham, Wigan, Sunderland, West Brom & Stoke can not contribute even with the vast sums of money in the Premier league. May be this is the reason that many of these teams consider them selves to be "massive" & major players but never actually get anywhere when major trophies are to be won. I am happy that we have 1 player making a contribution, following many others and worldwide famous players players from Leicester, I just wonder when we will have the pleasure of seeing them playing for England & Leicester at the same time again? I believe that Mattock may carry on this tradition
Asha Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 West Ham have 4. They should be doing better with a youth setup that good.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 West Ham have 4.They should be doing better with a youth setup that good. Better than what exactly? They are a selling club, so they have done pretty well for saying the quality players they have sold. Could of spent the money wiser but they have done well.
Staf Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 God i never knew that David James started off at Watford
Lovejoy Posted 22 August 2008 Posted 22 August 2008 West Ham have 4.They should be doing better with a youth setup that good. Don't forget Michael Carrick as well !

With the likes of Hull, Stoke and Wigan I'd say its a little too soon to be expecting that much of them.
