fiery fox Posted 8 April 2005 Posted 8 April 2005 I have recieved information that Craig Levein will attempt to add another striker to add to his squad in the close season, with Kris Boyd been the player he is interested in. On the day Levein has confirmed he will not be pursuing former player Paul Hartley, Levein has apparently told sources he would be interested in signing the 21 year old kilmarnock striker. The 6ft 1 forward has been in impressive form in the scottish league and though De Vries has appeared useless, Boyd is said to be as good on the ground as he is in the air. One sticking point is Kilmarnock's valuation believed to be in the 250k range and with 1 year left on his contract, City are only wish to pay 100k. Interesting move from Levein as he has also added the young slovenian striker recently. I wonder would a wide player to provide the quality of service be more usefull than 2 new front lines? What is everyone else's view on the matter?
dave_binos Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 Also saw in a few scottish papers this week that Rab Douglas could be coming to you guys!

Tommy Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 Some valid points there. I for one would love to see young Krissy Boyd down here from Killie, Ive seen him a couple of times on Tv and hes looked quality, although that touted price of 250 k could prove somewhat of a stumbling block.
Steven Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 Also saw in a few scottish papers this week that Rab Douglas could be coming to you guys! 89987[/snapback] His name keeps cropping up as we will be looking for a keeper this close season. Hopefully not Douglas though. My choices would be to keep Walker or try to sign Taylor.
dynamite foxes Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 Heard good things about this boy. I really hope we sign as he has been banging them in. Hope he is better than De Vries! (not difficult) Also a good indicator usually is that on football manager game, he went to Liverpool and was worth 7 million (please ignore the rest as I am sure it has no relevance!) I signed him on loan at leicester and he failed to score in 13 games, he then scored but I bought Frode Johnsen (who scored 17 in 16 matches and fired me into Europe). Boyd then ended up at Premiership West Brom where he scored 15 goals. Can't complain
Carlo Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 He will have to be if he's carrying De Vries and Connolly next season
alex Posted 9 April 2005 Posted 9 April 2005 Levein's checking out Hackett at Oxford who's meant to be useful on the right...
dave_binos Posted 10 April 2005 Posted 10 April 2005 Do you guys not believe in giving players a chance to settle in? DOn't know about connelly but De Vries was class at Hearts and moved to Leicester when he was still unfit. Moving to a new area unfit and having to settle into new surroundings would have been hard for him, give the guy a break A good pre-season and then he might start banging the goals in for you next season. Wonder if Hughes had been pish since he moved there if you would be saying just another useless wee dud.
