Hobbs Claims First Monthly Award of the Season

The belated August awards have revealed that Liverpool loanee Jack Hobbs was the most favoured player by the City fans, pipping team-mates Lloyd Dyer and Matty Fryatt to the award. Hobbs played consistently well in his four appearances during August, never faltering in defence whilst Lloyd Dyer proved a useful outlet on the wing with steadily improving performances throughout the month culminating in the stand-out performance of the month away at Cheltenham. Matty Fryatt's goals during August helped him in making up the top three.

Meanwhile, Paul Dickov was possibly quite harshly given the flop of the month title. Dickov made an appearance in each of the six games and played long enough to make an impression on each but unfortunately he failed to impress the fans in what was generally an unfamiliar role for him out on the wing. Young midfielder Andy King followed Dickov and goalkeeper David Martin rounded off the bottom three. While there were players with worse averages, they did not have enough time on the pitch to be considered for the awards.

All is good in the world again thanks Ched - back to being your in-house statto for a day job :)

Excellent work Sheff the bonus being I don't have to create all those monthly polls.

Some really interesting stats provided. Thank you.

Although some of the post-match scores on here are wildly different, it's good to see the fans perspective.

I'm glad to see Howard getting a good overall score. He seems to get more than his fair share of knocks on here, but I think he is currently fulfilling an effective role for the team. He's also had a lot of bad luck with goals ruled out for seemingly fair tackles.
