As Ched said, if things continue this partnership will fail.

At the start of the season both of these pair were looking good together, and that's because they were working for each other. Howard was winning his headers, holding it up well, and then finding Fryatt who always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

We're not seeing that now. Howard's headers are now either too wayward, or his strike partner lacks the intelligence to find some space to run into to meet the ball. As Karim said, when Fryatt's not scoring it's like having 10 players on your side. He's unlikely to ruffle many feathers for opposition defenders, and he's too easy to defend against unless he's handed things on a plate by his team mates.

At this time though I see no alternative to this partnership. The only option I would suggest is for Fryatt to make way for Dickov when fit, and see how that goes for a while.

As soon as DJ is back, everything will go back to normal.

Failing that, sign someone.

On a serious note, 'fraid to say Paul Dickov is not the answer.

Think I might boo both of them for the full 90 next game.

The treatment of Steve Howard yesterday afternoon was appalling. I though he had a good game and won no end of headers, knock the ball down in the area but no one was willing to take a gamble on.

The fella is not Carl Cort!!

Fryatt was appauling yesterday, that 1 on 1 was shocking, but yet, Lloyd dyer missed a clear opportunity, but no-one is on his back !

The treatment of Fryat and Howard was not on yesterday, but I can see where people are coming from, we need to score, if we don't score, we won't win.

Simple as that really, lets get behind the team for once, instead of slagging everybody off. Maybe the last couple of performances were sh*t, but they wont improve if they have a few thousand of there own fans booing !

I don't know what some on here are on about regarding Howard as he got a great reception from L&K to chants of super Steve. :appl:

booing of Howard was ridiculous yesterday fair enough i thought he had a poor game but he's been doing his job well this season i don't think some people understand what the role of a target man is to be honest. Fryatt on the other hand i think is quite poor - he needs too many chances to score (granted he has scored a lot this season but when chances are at a premium we need to take them like yesterday) he is also quite slow to be running on to the flick on from Howard. We seriously need an alternative soon...
