billabob Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 It has finally arrived, my ps3 today contracted the "yellow light of death" It will no longer work, at all, just turns on, bleeps, goes yellow and turns off. I took it to work and blew a compressed airline through it, i have never seen so much dust! but alas, still dead... According to sony i need to send it off and get it fixed costing about £100 but fallout 3 is still in it and they cant promise i will get it back, this leaves me one option... OPEN HEART SURGERY!!!!! Going to be an interesting weekend.........

I didn't have this problem, but my PS3 did die, I just phoned them up and they sent a new one out (Well reconditioned one, Basicially a new hard drive fitted, as good as new) When I recieved the new one, They took my dead one and will fix that and send it someone else. They didn't really bother about wanting to know what the problem was too much. And it was out of warrenty so can't understand why their saying you need to pay £100. Phone them again and see if you have any luck maybe?! Look in the PS3 thread on the Computer/Gaming forum, Not sure what page but you will find information about the problems I had with my PS3 in there.
