dandannieldanok Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 It's difficult to say how good a signing he'll be considering I have no idea how good the A-league is compared to English leagues.
NQF Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 I'd say we're on par with League one/ lower teams in the championship. The league has only been around for 4 seasons, but we've already had one of our clubs reach the Asian Champions League final.

I think he'd be a good signing for you then, although you'll find there are many different opinions. I'd personally be disappointed to see him go.

Fair enough. It'd be interesting if a few more people could give an opinion on him to see how you supporters feel about him. At the moment is he first choice at the club?

NQF Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 Cheers for that mate. I've had a quick look and it seems there's a mixed reaction when it comes to rating Hendo. Will be an interesting signing for us.
Thracian Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 Source = my mate who is very close to North Queensland Fury. He's worked with them behind the scenes. Obviously a contract hasn't officially been signed as he's got 6 months left with you guys, but it's understood he's agreed to terms verbally with us. Don't know why. Henderson is not old for a goalkeeper and seems to be playing as well as ever. Times he's seen off challenges from the likes of Logan and Martin. His record is good this season, he seems fit enough, agile enough and there seems little doubt his kicking has improved even if he still fails to spot the early throw-out. He's always been a decent shot stopper - even from penalties - and given that we weren't prepared to pay £3m or close for Fulop I'm not sure it will be that easy to simply replace the guy. Doubtless the lure of home is strong but I'd have thought there's plenty of time yet before he needs to be thinking of football oblivion with North Queensland Fury. But it's his life...
Munzie Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 It's understood Paul Henderson will sign for new A-League club North Queensland Fury when his contract finishes with Leicester in 6 months.I haven't seen Henderson at all. What's he like? Will he be a good signing for my club? I too, am a little confused as to why he would be considering such a move at this stage of his career. Other than emotional reasons for missing family and friends, what will such a move achieve? Although he does blow hot and cold, he has the potential to be a good Championship keeper at least. With increased competition for the number 1 jersey over the last few seasons, he has definately improved and upped his game. I'm not convinced he will take up this offer, realistic or not.
