JoeyB Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 This time last year we were all saying how shit he is, how he couldn't kick, or wouldn't come off his line to claim balls. But since then he has improved alot! He is now coming off his line and catching balls, he can kick full length of the pitch and his kicks are more accurate, and he is coming off his line and clearing the ball when needed. Things he wasn't doing last year, yes we maybe playing lower league opponents but you have to give him credit for working hard at it. Well done Hendo and The Keeping Coach
Corky Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 He's not perfect, he never will be, but he's the best keeper we've got and deserves to start every match. Generally we look more secure with him in goal compared to Martin.

Well done Hendo and The Keeping Coach perhaps it is something to do with having tunchev in front of him instead of whatshisname, that we sold to ipswich... knowing that he has protection and an outlet can do wonders for a goalie's confidence.
Kilworthfox Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 He is the best we have, however does that make him good enough? To say he has improved is a matter of opinion, I still see an issue with the Goalie situaton.
Southern Fox Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 Saw him and Paddy K in a coffee shop in the new shopping centre sat by the window they were talking about Mercedes and were in good spirits Shame as when I saw then 2 days earlier they both played in the defeat to Rovrum

Drinking coffee in the afternoon in town, livin it up like big shots!
step Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 he can kick full length of the pitch and his kicks are more accurate, That is why he does not get selected over martin. Full length kicks usually end up as 70/30 balls and inevitably we lose the possession so they are a waste, we need a keeper that can and does find a nearby player that is unmarked which allow us to build an attack from the back. Long ball football is crap and will never get us anywhere

Dont forget his beast of a through on Saturday
lildave3 Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 I never thought i'd see someone make Henderson look good, but Martin has done just that.

Long ball football is crap and will never get us anywhere Usually I'd agree, but after seeing Henderson kick the ball the full length of the pitch yesterday, which caused havoc amongst the Yeovil defence, it's an extra attacking option Imo.
RowlattsFox Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 I really don't think Martin would have done anything different had he been in the goal the last few games, Hendo has had more or less fook all to do since hes come back in the side. The only game he's had something to do was Rotherham and no doubt Martin would have been blamed for that defeat had he played. Hendo has improved, no doubt but he's hardly been put under any pressure so far.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 Long ball football is crap and will never get us anywhere It got us a win last night. Dyer's goal was a perfect example of route-one football.

Lovejoy Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 David Martin used to be number 2 at MK before Liverpool signed him, and even then when I was him play in the League Cup and JPT, he wasn't very good .
Thracian Posted 12 November 2008 Posted 12 November 2008 Henderson didn't concede a single goal in the four games he played at the beginning of the season before being dropped for no reason I could ever understand. And since his return he's conceded three goals in four matches making his overall record three conceded in eight games and six clean sheets! Exactly why he's so under appreciated I've no idea.

Well you know my view, what i can't understand is how you're so dismissive of hoofing and so derogatory of Morrison for it even though he was playing out of position and yet you're happy to tolerate Henderson the biggest hoofer of all. Admittedly he did try to pass it a few times last night but then so did Morrison.

Because I don't believe Morrison is the best option we've got at right-back . And I do believe that Henderson is our best goalkeeper. In fact I'd probably tolerate any goalkeeper who could keep his average of goals against in eight down down to less than 0.5 of a goal a game. Never mind someone as basically reliable as Henderson. If you recall I was always in favour of investing £3m on Fulop but I'm not sure even he would have returned a better record than Henderson so far this season.

NQF Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 It's understood Paul Henderson will sign for new A-League club North Queensland Fury when his contract finishes with Leicester in 6 months. I haven't seen Henderson at all. What's he like? Will he be a good signing for my club?

NQF Posted 15 November 2008 Posted 15 November 2008 Source = my mate who is very close to North Queensland Fury. He's worked with them behind the scenes. Obviously a contract hasn't officially been signed as he's got 6 months left with you guys, but it's understood he's agreed to terms verbally with us.
