Academy whacked by Cov

Leicester City's Under-18s slipped to a 5-2 defeat at Coventry City on Saturday lunchtime.

Billy Kee netted both of the Foxes' consolation goals but some disappointing defending during the 90 minutes cost the visitors dear.

Academy Manager Jon Rudkin said: "We did create some chances and on reflection could have drawn the game 5-5 but when you don't defend correctly, then you automatically open yourselves up to concede goals."

City: Ambrusics, Cox, Parkes, Bolger, O'Neill, Vasey, Milne, Burns, King C, Kee, Sappleton.

That's an appalling result and probably the last sort of advertisement aspiring full-backs Lee Cox and Luke O'Neill wanted.

Billy Kee will be pleased to grab a brace but it's looking like we'll end up mid-table at best this season. Reasonably strong side on paper too.

I had thought our defence looked stronger than it did at the start of the season but it seemed to lack mobility and pace the last couple of times I watched, so, once again, we may have been punished for that.

We also miss the sort of dominant midfield players who can help plug the leaks if necessary.
