dandannieldanok Posted 16 November 2008 Posted 16 November 2008 In a way that just serves to show that booing may help to focus a player on what went wrong. Don't for one minute believe I'm advocating booing, but it doesn't seem from reading this article that it harmed his performances in the future, in fact it maybe had the opposite effect.

Like he says - All players are different and people react differently.
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 The second reason was quite simply that the people of Hartlepool are a forgiving bunch and the penny dropped with me that if you give absolutely everything for them, they will accept you and I think, on the whole, that is true for most fans. That is the most important paragraph of the blog!!! With Howard being probley the most singled out player for being lazy and donest move. If i see a player moving and chasing everyball there is noway i would Boo such a player 3 players that gave there all week in week out have become city legends in the name of Dickov,Hume & Mr Savage. All are regarded as great players by every single city fan,now the problem with howard he shows none of that and shows no real commitment in a game. Granted i havent heard anything from yests game so cannot judge him on that performance but maybe just maybe if he did move his backside for 90mins you MIGHT hear the fans showing the same respect and even chanting his name...untill then except things to stay as they are

That doesn't make him shit.
filbertway Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 How can you not realise that chasing people down isn't part of Howards game, he can't do it. That doesn't make him shit. Does he do anything apart from win headers? Yes I went there.
lildave3 Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 Does he do anything apart from win headers? Yes I went there. Yes, hold the ball up, lay it off simply, start 80% of our attacks.
filbertway Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 Yes, hold the ball up, lay it off simply, start 80% of our attacks. I don't see "Scores on a regular basis" there?
lildave3 Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 I don't see "Scores on a regular basis" there? Because he doesn't.
Ultra Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 Yes, hold the ball up, lay it off simply, startwreck 80% of our attacks. Was this what you meant?

FantasticMrFuchs Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 These fans you who have there tinters on with Howard im glad he got booked on Sat & is suspended next week might see a diffrence and maybe more than 1 goal. Leicester have scored 27 goals this season 13 from fryatt 6 from Dyer 1 from Tank Tunch 2 King 3 Oakley and howards got???? round my way we have a word for that....that word is Shit! out of 22 starts which hes played a full 90mins hes scored 2 goals in my eyes that is shocking for a striker but its alright folks he holds the ball up, lays it off simply, start 80% of our attacks because that will win us the league WAKEY WAKEY!!!

Sort your stats out if you're going to have a go! I'm not saying that he scores enough goals - he doesn't. But he is still a key player. And you're right, next week we will see.

carterfox90 Posted 17 November 2008 Posted 17 November 2008 just face it he is poor for a center forward he needs to score more & the miss on saturday from 5 yards out proves his confidence is gone he needs a rest & next week he's got one we will see how we play without him in our hardest game so far
