Morrison works very hard when he plays for Ireland, but you are right it is very bizarre, Connolly is far better. I think the only readon for the choise is that Morrison plays for a prem club...sadly doesn't make him a better player. Last year for example Trevor Benjamin belonged to a premiership club!
