davieG Posted 18 December 2008 Author Posted 18 December 2008 Gartland undergoes Leicester trial December 18, 2008 Exit-bound Drogheda United defender Graham Gartland is undergoing a trial at Coca-Cola League One leaders Leicester City this week. Leicester is the fourth English club to show an interest in the towering centre half, following trials at Championship trio Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Ipswich Town. Gartland has also been controversially linked with Rangers, where he could spend time on trial in January – he would become the first player from the Republic of Ireland to join the blue half of the Old Firm since Alex Stevenson almost 80 years ago. The 25-year-old former Longford Town man, who holds one League of Ireland, three FAI Cup and two Setanta Sports Cup winners’ medals, is on his way out of Drogheda after the 2007 champions found themselves in financial turmoil at the end of the ’08 season.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Fu cking get him in. Kissa isn't going anywhere in Jan, maybe May though? With Hobbs still a Liverpool player, we could do with him. Can't go Gers though!!
