barmy76uk Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Has came out of retirement in Australia for the Newcastle jets, fair play to him!
dhermon Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 That speaks volumes about the strength and depth of our A-League
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 He works as a commentator and football correspondent for fox sports over here. I remember him talking about our relegation and how sad it was. Advertisement Newcastle have signed veteran English defender and football analyst Spencer Prior for the rest of the A-League season. The 37-year-old former Norwich City, Leicester City, Derby County and Manchester City player trained with the team on Tuesday ahead of Sunday's trip to Wellington. Reigning premiers Newcastle, who are in last place and out of finals contention, have had their playing stocks hit hard this season. Prior, who works for Fox Sports, joins as a guest player just days after the Jets lost captain Jade North to South Korean side Incheon United. Prior helped Manchester City gain promotion to the English Premier League in 2000 but only made a handful of appearances in the top flight. He joined third-tier Cardiff City in 2001 and helped them rise to the Championship before returning to his first club Southend in 2004, where he stayed until coming to Australia last year Newcastle's season is obviously gone and there is no point trying to replace Jade North this late in the season with a long term replacemet
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Good luck to the bloke. I wondered where he was resting his massive noggin, didn't know he went down under.
Matt Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 He went over to Australia (End of last season? ) to set up his own bar didn't he? Something like that.

That might go along way to explaining why most people think he is drunk while on fox sports although to give him credit he is more interesting to listen to than bloody robbie slater
