Seeing as a new thread hasn't been started, he goes...

Walker 6 - one excellent save, but other than that didn't impress. He doesn't command his area at all and never inspires confidence at corners.

Kenton 6 - some good tackles and blocks, his pace is quite useful. However, he was caught napping for Sunderland's first goal (stuck in noman's land) and could also be blamed for their second...outjumped and outfought at the corner. Sunderland also caused us a hell of a lot of problems from our right side, outlining Kenton's weaknesses.

McCarthy 7 - good performance, won a lot in the air. Still gave away needless freekicks and was booked again. Needs to control his aggression.

Dublin 8* - star man again, good defensively and was great up front. Sign him up for next season.

Maybury 6 - great run and finish for the goal. Didn't support the midfielders a lot after that and wasn't involved as much as I would have liked.

Tiatto 7 - sound performance, kept the ball well, got stuck in. Much improved performance from Tuesday.

Joey 6 - typical Joey. Hassles the opposition and makes challenges, but doesn't look great when on the ball.

Nalis 7 - kept possession well and did his defensive duties well. Didn't offer much support going forward though.

Hughes 7 - looks quality on the ball. Should've put us 2-1 up but took far too long on the ball. Still feel he should be playing central midfield. Supported the strikers well.

MDV 6 - looked better than previous games. Still should have scored, no excuses for that.

Connolly 6 - works hard, but finishing was lacking as usual. 2 'scoreable' chances missed. Good build up play again, but tended to drift wide to receive the ball. He should also disobey Levein's orders and NOT come back into our penalty area to defend set pieces, it simply doesn't work.

Subs:

Moore 6 - won a few aerial challenges, good link up play at times.

Williams 5 - decent 10 minute performance when he came on, then drifted into obscurity. Waster.

Stearman 5 - not a great game from him. Lost the ball a few times and make a wreckless tackle to earn a booking. Needs to sort his temperament out cos he seems to get booked every time he plays.

Walker 7 - Made some decent saves, kicking was decent and could do nothing about the goals.

Kenton 7 - First half was hit and miss, where he would defend well but then needlessly waste possssion. 2nd half improvement

Dublin 7 - cool and composed as always, 1 hairy moment 1st half when his cockiness caught him out though

McCarthy 6 - Anish says he won a lot in the air, I completely disagree. Chris Brown had the beating of him all day when challenging for headers, and when he did get his nut on it, invariably it didnt go very far. He's reasonably solid though, and can be moulded into a decent centre half.

Maybury 8 - One of the star performers, goal was excellent, made effort to get forward (especially 1st half), and his covering of the defence was faultless.

Hughes 6.5 - Some lovely touches on the ball (the chip through to Connolly was sublime), but often gave it away and unfortunately is blessed with no pace. With players around on his wavelngth (DC is currently the only one) he will be an influential player

Nalis 5 - Anonymous

Tiatto 7.5 - Again drifted in from his left wing slot, but I thought he turned in a very good perfromance. Tenacious, causing Stephen Wright all sorts of problems with his harrying, and clever with his distribution.

Connolly 6 - Wasn't involved much, but most of the good stuff arised from linking up with Hughes. Fashioned 1 chance for himself superbly, but could not control his volley.

De Vries 6 - Should have scored but was playing ok until he got injured

Subs

Moore 6.5 - Looked quick and lively, his best moment when spinning the defender leaving him for dead before sliding through Hughes for a 1 on 1 which was duly missed. Not sure he's the answer to the goalscroing problems though

Williams 4 - Came on and couldn't be arsed, gave it away both times i saw him on the ball and made no effort to win it back

Stearman 4.5 - Pretty poor when he came on, 1 reckless challenge and an almost suicidal backpass being the main incidents.
