He couldn't have wrecked the club on his own. The board of the time should also take a large part of the blame.

Despite the burden of the new stadium, they still let him blow millions on long-term contracts we couldn't afford and overpriced signings who were past their sell-by date.

That pretty much sums up what I wrote too. Sack the board! Oh wait, we did, eventually.

I did state this in my full reply to the survey. However, IMO it boils down to PT's total incompetance. He was the reason that we were relegated from the Premiership, which heaped further financial difficulties onto the football clubs huge problems.

Yes but the club should never have been in a situation where relegation meant administration. It was always a possibility and any business model that didn't make contingency plans for it was highly irresponsible.

Long term contracts to players like Elliott were simply unforgivable. The Board, and perhaps the fans, forgot what sort of a club we were.

If we had still been in the Premier League top 10 when we moved to the Way, then, just maybe, we could have looked at giving Elliott, Izzet and others contracts of £2m a year.

To have done so while we were still on 20k gates at Filbo, and in footballing freefall, was sheer insanity, especially when bearing the additional costs of building the Way.

Even now, the stadium is still a long distance from being paid for, although the pittance charged to Walkers for sponsorship rights hasn't helped.

Taylor wasted the money, but the board gave him that money.

After spending plenty in 2000, they then gave him another £10 million in 2001, for Scowcroft, Walker and Desp(W)ise to turn around the mess he created after the Wycombe match.

Taylor and the board were to blame for us going into administration.

Believe it or not, that summer the FA were head-hunting Taylor as an assistant to Sven.

If only our board had let them have him, and taken the compo as well..:(

Yes, I remember, but he decided to concentrate solely on us.

85 minutes into the first home match, the crowd wanted him gone.
