Jimmy Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 glad he's ok but he was never as good as many on here made out and he himself believed, if he had some fooking discipline we wouldn't of played with a virtual 4-5-1 the whole of the 07-08 season, also he attitude when played on the wing stank. he had a great leap and won more headers then he was entitled to but he thought he was better then the rest of the squad and tried to beat every player on the other team on his own. If I'm able to go to the Barnsley game here next season his return will be treated with total indifference
Toby or not Toby Posted 15 June 2009 Posted 15 June 2009 I will applaud him, but not because of him being an ex player, but for the courage he has shown to come back from the injury.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 June 2009 Posted 15 June 2009 Hume didn't have to leave and was never persuaded to go at all. Of course the club took a financial hit but it's absolute bollocks that he left because we needed the cash. We're no Southampton, relegation doesn't automatically put you in the financial shit, it just means less income for the club. In fact most players took a wage cut built into their contracts so it's nonsense to think we had to sell. I don't mind a player leaving at all if they keep their mouth shut, but when someone says they'll stay and then bugger off weeks later, it's hard not be annoyed.
