Big Ol' Bob Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 The grandmother of a leading Leicester City player has been named the new Mrs GILF 2009. Edna Oakley, Grandmother of Leicester City Captain Matt Oakley, has been crowned after competing against 13 other gilfs from all over Great Britain. The 67-year-old, who is currently situated at the Norbury Hall Care Home, in London, now hopes to become a model. Edna, from Peterborough, said: "It was my first time doing anything like this and I never thought I had the courage for it. "But it's been really exciting. I love the job because you get to meet so many new people." Edna has been getting to grips with her new responsibilities quickly, finding time between her cross stitch lessons to open a fete, sell kisses for charity and hand out trophies to young footballers. Other activities in her year ahead will include scuba diving, white water rafting and murray mint eating competitions. Edna is also beginning a two-year break dancing course at Studio 79, in Churchgate, Leicester, and would like to get into modelling. She said: "It's really exciting having won and getting to wear the crown". "I'd like to go home now, Countdown starts in an hour."
