This weekend sees Leicester City Football Club begin their launch for the 2009/10 season with match tickets for all 23 home league games going on sale, together with the release of the various Club Membership Schemes for the new season.

The club have changed their ticket sales policy to allow supporters to purchase tickets for any of their home league games throughout the season, with savings on match tickets available to those who decide to join the club's membership schemes.

It's not just the City ticket office that promises to be busy this weekend. The City Megastore is set to be a hive of activity too, as the JOMA 2009/11 home kit goes on general sale, to coincide with the launch of the rebranded City Megastore.

These four launches will turn up the temperature, as well as the anticipation for City fans, who are eagerly awaiting the club's return to the Coca-Cola Championship.

Leicester City Football Club Chairman, Milan Mandaric said: "With five weeks to go until the Championship opener against Swansea City, there is genuine excitement both inside and outside the Walkers Stadium about the coming season."

He added: "It is a really positive step for the club that we can release all home match tickets from July 4th and the move to offer a £2 discount on match tickets to those who choose to join as members is sure to be popular."

Both the City Megastore and Ticket Office will be open from 9am on Saturday July 4th until 5pm and again on Sunday July 5th from 10am until 2pm. For full details of match tickets and the various membership schemes available for the new season, contact the Ticket Office on 0844 815 5000, or via e-mail [email protected] or save time and buy online at www.lcfc.co.uk.

I don't think it will make an enormous difference - it's not as if people will be able to say for certain if they can attend a football match in 2,3,4 months' time due to other commitments, etc. Still, I suppose some people might prefer the option...
