Solheim Cup Record: 10-9-7

LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame member Beth Daniel is the captain of the 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. As a competitor, Daniel appeared in eight Solheim Cups with a 10-9-7 overall record and 13.5 points scored. An assistant captain on the victorious 2007 U.S. Team, Daniel is making her first appearance as U.S. captain. She helped the U.S. Team to victory in the inaugural 1990 Solheim Cup with a 3-0-0 record. A 33-time LPGA Tour winner, Daniel was a three-time Rolex Player of the Year (1980, 1990, 1994) and a three-time Vare Trophy winner for lowest scoring average (1989, 1990, 1994). Her 29-year LPGA career spanned four decades and was highlighted by her 2000 induction into the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame. A South Carolina native now living in Florida, Daniel amassed nearly $9 million in earnings during her career and finished atop the LPGA Official Money List three times in her career. Daniel became the oldest winner in LPGA history with her 33rd and final Tour victory at the 2003 Canadian Women's Open at the age of 46 years, 8 months, 29 days. Now 52, Daniel frequently works as an on-air analyst for the Golf Channel.

Meg Mallon, U.S. assistant captain

Solheim Cup Record: 13-9-7

Eight-time U.S. Solheim Cup Team member Meg Mallon is one of two assistant captains for the 2009 U.S. Team. Mallon, who boasts a 13-9-7 record with 16.5 points scored in Solheim Cup competition, is a first-time assistant captain under Beth Daniel. Mallon recorded at least one victory in seven of her eight appearances at the event. Her 16.5 points place her at the top of the American career points leaderboard alongside Juli Inkster. An 18-time LPGA Tour winner, Mallon has four major championships to her credit including two U.S. Women's Open championships (1991, 2004). She was recognized during the LPGA's 50th Anniversary in 2000 as one of the LPGA's top 50 players and teachers. While at The Ohio State University, Mallon earned All-Conference honors from 1984-85 and was runner-up at the 1985 Big Ten Championship.

Kelly Robbins, U.S. assistant captain

Solheim Cup Record: 10-10-4

Six-time U.S. Solheim Cup Team member Kelly Robbins is making her first appearance as an assistant captain at The Solheim Cup. She is tied for fifth in U.S. Team history with 12 career points and 10 career victories (10-10-4) in the event. Robbins is tied with Paula Creamer for most holes won by an individual in singles competition with eight (2002 vs. Maria Hjorth). Robbins is a nine-time LPGA Tour winner with nearly $6 million in career earnings. Her lone major victory came at the 1995 McDonald's LPGA Championship. She played collegiate golf at the University of Tulsa, where she won seven individual titles and twice was named a First-Team All-American. In 1991, she was honored as the NCAA Co-Player of the Year along with Annika Sorenstam.

Nicole Castrale

Solheim Cup Record: 2-2-0

Nicole Castrale had one win and eight top-10 finishes on her resume from the 2006 and 2007 seasons leading up to the announcement of the 2007 U.S. Solheim Cup team. 2007 U.S. Captain Betsy King liked what she saw in the determined Southern California native and made her the first of two captain's picks for the team. Castrale's 2-2-0 record as a rookie was highlighted by her 3&2 victory over Bettina Hauert during Sunday's single's matches to earn the U.S. Team's 14th point, which was enough to retain the Cup. Despite not winning since 2007, Castrale's record of top 10 finishes speaks for itself and has grown with more than 10 in the past two years. She has also crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings with a tie for 17th at the U.S. Women's Open. Walking every step along the way with Castrale is her husband, Craig, who will also be making his second Solheim Cup appearance as her caddie.

Paula Creamer

Solheim Cup Record: 5-1-4

Although only 23 years old, Paula Creamer took the lead in the 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup Team points race when she won The Mitchell Company LPGA Tournament of Champions in November 2007. And she never looked back. As a five-year LPGA Tour member, Creamer, of California, has competed on every U.S. Solheim Cup team she has been eligible for. Her 5-1-4 record over two years is one of the strongest records in team history, while her 70 percent winning average matches Dottie Pepper's (13-5-2) as the highest in U.S. Team history among members with two or more team appearances. Since the 2007 U.S. victory in Halmstad, Sweden, Creamer has only improved on her game, recording five victories and an additional 22 top-10 finishes. Battling illness or injury for most of the 2009 season, Creamer, the 2005 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year, still made it clear there were few obstacles that would keep her from making an appearance at Rich Harvest Farms. A fierce competitor, the Pink Panther is always the first to share how proud she is to represent the Red, White and Blue in this biennial competition.

Natalie Gulbis

Solheim Cup Record: 4-3-0

Natalie Gulbis, an eight-year LPGA Tour veteran, is making her third appearance on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team. This season, the 26-year-old has finished in the top-20 four times, including a pair of top 10s at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill (T7) and the SBS Open at Turtle Bay (T10). In her prior Solheim Cup performances, Gulbis has a 4-3-0 career record, and helped bring the U.S. team to victory in 2007. In 2005, Gulbis' first appearance on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team, she tallied three points for the victorious U.S. Team. Gulbis has one career victory on the LPGA Tour at the 2007 Evian Masters, where she defeated Jeong Jang in a one-hole, sudden-death playoff. That same year, Gulbis received the William and Mousie Powell Award, which is given annually to a member who, in the opinion of her playing peers, by her behavior and deeds, best exemplifies the spirit, ideals and values of the LPGA Tour. She has earned just over $3.8 million in career earnings since joining the LPGA Tour in 2002. Gulbis attended the University of Arizona, where she was a First-Team All-American.

Juli Inkster

Solheim Cup Record: 14-8-5

Making her eighth Solheim Cup appearance, Juli Inkster's leadership will be valuable to the team and captain Beth Daniel who, along with co-captain Meg Mallon, all own the record for most Solheim Cup appearances by an American (eight). Inkster has earned 16 ½ points for the U.S. Solheim Cup team in her career with six points coming from seven singles matches thanks to her 6-1-0 all-time singles record. Inkster owns the all-time record in Solheim Cup history for most points earned in singles competition. The chemistry between Inkster and her captains dates back to the days they played together. When paired together (1998 four-ball and 2002 foursomes with Mallon; two 2003 four-ball matches with Daniel), Inkster and her teammates were never defeated. Look for the trend to continue with three-time Solheim Cup member, 23-year-old Paula Creamer. Creamer and Inkster have been paired together four times in the last two Solheim Cup competitions and posted a 2-1-1 record. Inkster, the only American who is an active member of the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame, is a 2009 captain's pick and, at 49 years old, 1 month, 28 days, surpasses Daniel as the oldest competitor in the event's history. On the LPGA Tour, she has 31 career victories and has earned more than $12.6 million.

Cristie Kerr

Solheim Cup Record: 7-9-1

At only 31-years-old, Cristie Kerr has established herself as a U.S. Team veteran in her fifth consecutive Solheim Cup appearance. Her experience will be valuable to a team hoping to maintain their undefeated record on home soil. Kerr owns an overall record of 7-9-1 in competition, but this year at Rich Harvest Farms could shape up to be her best yet. A hot putter and strong partner - especially in fourball competition where she has a 6-2-0 overall record - will be key for Kerr's success. In the middle of her 13th year on the LPGA Tour, Cristie Kerr is arguably in her prime as a professional golfer. She recently crossed the $10 million mark in career earnings and is sixth on the LPGA Career Earnings list. This season - thanks to one victory and 10 additional top-10 finishes - she holds the top spot on the LPGA Official Money List, marking the sixth consecutive year she has surpassed $1 million in season earnings. Her tie for third at the U.S. Women's Open gave the Florida native the lead in the Rolex Player of the Year race. She uses her intensity on the course to drive awareness for her Birdies for Breast Cancer charity, which has raised more than $650,000 since 2003. Kerr donates $50 for every birdie and $100 for every eagle she makes.

Christina Kim

Solheim Cup Record: 2-1-1

Seven-year LPGA Tour veteran Christina Kim returns to the Solheim Cup this season after narrowly missing the 2007 U.S. Team. Remembered for pumping the crowd up at Crooked Stick in 2005, she has a 2-1-1 overall Solheim Cup record to her name. Kim is a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour, and looks to bring her positive energy back to this year's U.S. squad. A fan-favorite every time she tees it up, Kim finished tied for third at the 2009 RICOH Women's British Open and seventh at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major championship of the year. Her two career victories came at the 2004 Longs Drugs Challenge and at The Mitchell Company LPGA Tournament of Champions in 2005. The 25-year-old has more than $3 million in career earnings and has racked up 35 top-10 finishes since her rookie season in 2003. Prior to becoming a member of the LPGA Tour, Kim earned medalist honors at the 2001 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship, where she recorded a career-low 62, for the stroke-play portion of the event.

Brittany Lang

Solheim Cup Record: N/A

Brittany Lang, of Texas, is one of three rookies on the 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Although a LPGA Tour member since 2006, Lang's performance in the past two years catapulted her up the points list into seventh. Lang is no stranger to team competition, having earned a spot into the first-ever PING Junior Solheim Cup to compete for the United States; she finished with a 1-1-1 record. She was also a member of the victorious 2004 U.S. Curtis Cup Team. As amateurs, she and Morgan Pressel tied for second at the 2005 U.S. Women's Open, which is Lang's career-best performance in a LPGA event. She matched the finish with a tie for second at the 2008 Sybase Classic Presented by ShopRite and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational by Banamex and Corona Light. Since joining the Tour, Lang's been known for her consistent game. She has recorded more than 20 top-20 finishes since qualifying began for the 2009 Solheim Cup. Her brother, Luke, will join her on the course as her caddie.

Brittany Lincicome

Solheim Cup Record: 0-2-1

At the age of 23, Brittany Lincicome is making her second U.S. Solheim Cup appearance. Lincicome became a member of the LPGA Tour in 2005, and has three career victories, including this year's Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major championship of the year. Her previous triumphs came at the 2006 HSBC Women's World Match Play Championship, where she defeated LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Famer and fellow U.S. teammate Juli Inkster in the finals, and the 2007 Ginn OPEN in Orlando, Fla. In her fifth season as part of the LPGA Tour, Lincicome has more than $2.5 millon in career earnings. This season, in addition to her first major championship win, Lincicome finished in the top-10 three other times, including the U.S. Women's Open (5), Wegmans LPGA (T10) and the Sybase Classic Presented by ShopRite (T6). In 2007 when she made her Solheim Cup debut, Lincicome finished with a 0-2-1 overall record. Lincicome, who resides in Florida., has become a fan-favorite over the years, and continues to hold one of the longest drivers on the Tour. Before becoming a professional, Lincicome had a stellar amateur career that included playing in the 2003 U.S. PING Junior Solheim Cup.

Kristy McPherson

Solheim Cup Record: N/A

Kristy McPherson, a three-year LPGA Tour member from South Carolina, is making her Solheim Cup debut. While still looking for her first victory on Tour, McPherson is part of an up-and-coming crop of talented players, and it's only a matter of time before she finds herself in the winner's circle. McPherson is enjoying the best season of her career in 2009, with four top-10 finishes, including two career-best ties for second at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the season's first major championship, and the Wegmans LPGA. She also finished tied for fifth at the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola, the second major of the year, and tied for seventh at the RICOH Women's British Open, the final major championship of the year. McPherson is a 2003 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a degree in sports and entertainment management. She placed fourth on the 2006 Duramed FUTURES Tour season-ending money list to earn exempt status for the 2007 LPGA season.

Morgan Pressel

Solheim Cup Record: 1-2-1

Morgan Pressel is making her second appearance on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team this week and looks to help her team to victory once again. In 2007, Pressel was the youngest player on the U.S. squad, but the experience she brings to the team this year should go a long way. At 21 years old, Pressel is the youngest player to automatically qualify for the 2009 U.S. Team. Pressel is a four-year member of the LPGA Tour and has two career victories on her resume. Two years ago, she became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, a major championship. Last year, she won the Kapalua LPGA Classic. This season, Pressel has finished in the runner-up spot once - at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger, and tied for seventh at the Corona Championship. Before joining the LPGA Tour, Pressel enjoyed a successful amateur career on the USGA and AJGA circuits. She qualified for the 2001 U.S. Women's Open at the age of 12, becoming the youngest player to qualify for that event at that time. She went on to win the 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur, 11 AJGA events and also represented the United States at the PING Junior Solheim Cup in 2002 and 2005.

Angela Stanford

Solheim Cup Record: 2-2-2

Angela Stanford was an important component of the 2007 U.S. Team with her 2-0-1 record. When the 2009 points race got underway, the 31-year-old was determined to solidify her place on the team early. Starting with her first win since 2003 at the 2008 Bell Micro LPGA Classic, Stanford found her groove. She carded nine top-20 finishes in 2008 leading up to her win, but then carded eight top-seven finishes in as many events, including two wins at the inaugural 2008 Lorena Ochoa Invitational by Banamex and Corona Light, and season-opening 2009 SBS Open at Turtle Bay. Midway through the 2009 season, the Texas Christian University (TCU) grad has found her scoring average the lowest it's ever been and is geared up to contribute to the team in her third U.S. Solheim Cup team appearance.

Michelle Wie

Solheim Cup Record: N/A

The first LPGA Tour rookie to qualify for the U.S. Solheim Cup team since Paula Creamer in 2005, Michelle Wie used the strength of five top-10 finishes to earn enough points for Captain Beth Daniel to give her the nod as one of two captain's picks. Wie competed in several match play competitions as an amateur and brings solid experience to the team. During her amateur career, she was the youngest USGA champion in an adult event when she won the 2003 USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at the age of 13. One year later, she was a member of the victorious U.S. Curtis Cup team, posting a 2-2 record. She also nearly defended her USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship title, finishing runner-up to Yani Tseng. As one of the LPGA Tour's top rookies this season, Wie has carded 65 percent of her rounds under par and averages 267 yards off the tee.

Spanish native Tania Elosegui qualified for the 2009 European Solheim Cup Team for the first time in her career after enjoying a breakout year on the Ladies European Tour (LET). After turning professional in 2006, she made her presence known in her first three years on Tour, recording six top-10s in 20 starts in 2008, followed by a further four top-10 finishes so far in 2009. She claimed her maiden win at the 2009 ABN AMRO Ladies Open in the Netherlands, overcoming a two-stroke deficit to deny Italian Diana Luna by a stroke at Eindhovensche Golf in Eindhoven. The richly deserved victory was the first of the 27-year-old Spaniard's fouryear career and followed five runner-up finishes, including her most recent to England's Laura Davies at the Women's Australian Open. Elosegui is part of a wave of fresh new talent hitting the Ladies European Tour winner's circle this year and she is fast becoming one of the Tour's dominant players. At the AIB Ladies Irish Open supported by Failte Ireland, she defeated a trio of players at Portmarnock Links near Dublin, claiming her second Ladies European Tour victory. She secured her third Tour title at the SAS Ladies Masters in Norway, just six days later (thanks to an unusual Saturday finish). She started playing golf at the age of 11 and although a proud Scot, has based herself in America for a number of years. She married Tim Carnevale in 2002. They have one son, Craig.

Gwladys Nocera

Solheim Cup Record: 2-3-1

In her seven-year career, Frenchwoman Gwladys Nocera has established herself as one of the most well-respected players on the Ladies European Tour (LET). She qualified for her third European Solheim Cup Team appearance as the leading points' scorer this year after a wonderful 2008 season, where she recorded five victories in Scotland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Spain. En route to winning the 2008 Goteborg Masters in Sweden, she returned the best 72-hole score in the LET's 30- year history, 29-under-par 259, which broke Laura Davies' 13-year-old previous record in relation to par. The 34-year-old from Moulins has scored 2.5 points and holds a 2-3-1 overall record in Solheim Cup competition. In her first-ever Solheim Cup in 2005, she defeated Cristie Kerr 2&1 in the singles to help keep European hopes of a first away victory alive. Nocera's first LET triumph came at the 2006 Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open and she quickly followed up with two further wins in 2006. She added two more titles in 2007 and has accumulated 10 LET trophies over a three-year period in eight different countries. At New Mexico University, Las Cruces, Nocera earned a degree in international business. Away from the course, she enjoys working out and currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland.

Anna Nordqvist

Solheim Cup Record: N/A

Swedish native Anna Nordqvist is making her debut appearance on the 2009 European Solheim Cup Team, as a rookie. The 22-year-old was selected by European Captain Alison Nicholas. Her win at the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola, which is a major championship, helped her to earn a spot on the 2009 European Team. For Nordqvist, earning a place on the team is one of many dreams to come true this season. Having turned professional on Jan. 1, she started the year by winning the Ladies European Tour's qualifying school tournament in Spain by three strokes, after also gaining limited playing status on the LPGA Tour. Winning her first tournament so quickly changed that and, in addition to earning the $300,000 winner's check and major champion title, Nordqvist no longer had to go through sectional qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open. She had played with the composure of a veteran over the Bulle Rock Golf Course and attributed her win to strong putting, which of course is all important in match play. Even prior to her victory she had shown her enthusiasm for making the 2009 European Solheim Cup Team by practicing at Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois with fellow Swede Louise Stahle. Nordqvist, who hails from Eskilstuna, attended Arizona State University and now resides in Arizona. She had a wonderful amateur career, during which she represented Europe on the PING Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2005.

Suzann Pettersen

Solheim Cup Record: 8-3-5

No stranger to the European Solheim Cup Team, Suzann Pettersen is making her fifth successive appearance in the event. The 28-year-old Norwegian has scored 10.5 points since her Cup debut in 2002 and has amassed an 8- 3-5 overall record. Suzann Pettersen's name will always be associated with Europe's Solheim Cup victory at Barsebäck. The Norwegian holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole of Saturday's four-ball matches allowing her and partner Annika Sorenstam to defeat Kelly Robbins and Laura Diaz, 1 up, giving Europe a three-point lead heading into the singles matches. After a back injury, she was selected as a pick for 2005 and did not disappoint, earning three points out of four at Crooked Stick. In 2007 at Halmstad, Pettersen won two points in total, claiming a full point in the four-balls partnering Annika Sorenstam. Pettersen has earned four Ladies European Tour victories, including the 2008 Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open and the AIB Ladies Irish Open. On the LPGA, she won five titles in 2007: the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola, where she crossed the $1 million mark in season earnings; the Longs Drugs Challenge, where she defeated Lorena Ochoa on the second hole of a sudden death playoff; and, in consecutive weeks, went wire-to-wire to win both the Hana Bank • KOLON Championship and Honda LPGA Thailand.
