How important is Football to you REALLY?

Nicely put Bert!

Now that i don't have a lady, i may be able to see more games

We're doomed!

On a personal level football was at one time very important to me in that it was where I let out all my anger and any aggresion that I had. When I was near the end of college I nearly fooked everything up with regards of going to Uni etc because certain things happened with one of my close friends dying of cancer and having my first serious relationship end after two years together. With that all happening in the space of week or two and with the pressure of exams coming up, football matches became the place where I could really vent all my emotions in one go in a safe enviroment. It meant I managed to focus on other things as a result and knowing I could really let go at the weekends kept me going through some dark times.

The last two seasons I hardly missed a game but there were certain times last season that being at the game was just a case of routine rather than me actually wanting to be there. This season though, I've started to miss games and Ipswich was the first time in 21 months that I hadn't been in the stands watching Leicester and the odd thing was that I didn't miss it. Even missing the Newcastle game (one of the games I was really keen to go to at the start of the season) didn't bother me as football is no longer the priority for me. Other things have happened in my life now and there are some weekends when I would rather be doing something else than watching us play and that's fine with me because I always knew that this season would be nothing compared to the fun that last season was, and even as the final whistle blew at Crewe, I was glad it was over. I wanted a break from it.

I still enjoy going and I think I'll still be at at least 75% of City games this season but if I miss some then that's fine too.

Very similar to Ched and Chris/Syston_fox.... The past 4 years it's meant a Hell of alot but certainly after Southend I realised it doesn't get to much better than this, incredible weekend that. If the right faces are going and we'll have a good trip and a laugh (Hartlepool and Carlisle last season come to mind) then I'll always attend. Last season was a 1 off in terms of getting to games the money was there, the grounds were great and my life was more sub standard than now.

At not one point in the summer did I really miss city and get a buzz if it returning. I dint the fixture list helped at all infact it was a huge put off for this season, I know we play everyone twice and it shouldn't matter but it really did, to me. I mean Palace, Bristol City, Barnsley, Sheff United all Tuesday nights then sky moved QPR and Newcastle. 6 great days out, ruined, it wound me right up.

Away from city however I've rarely loved it more. Playing 11a side, 5 a side and especially managing and coaching my under 9's team, it's all been brilliant recently.

Oh and I really cannot wait for the world cup been 4 long years if not caring about us internationally thanks to Steve Mclaren
