eleven points Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 AppCleaner - because dragging apps to the trash doesn't fully un-install them. Adium - can use loads of different chat protocols, facebook, msn et.c. all at the same time. GrowlTunes - displays your current song in itunes in the corner of your screen when the song changes. Growl - displays a message in the corner of the screen, used my many apps, such as Adium. ParagonNTFS - allows you to write to NTFS format hard drives, useful if you're external HD is ntfs or you've got a windows partition that you want to write some files to from OS-X. Some external HDs that are "Mac and PC friendly" come in FAT32, which means that you can't write files larger than 4GB. No use if you're stocking up on Blu-ray rips . So installing this app and formatting the external HD to NTFS is a way to get round that little problem. SoundFlower - can record what you're mac hears, can take your sound output as an input. OpenOffice - Not quite as good as MS office but it's free and does the job.
Finchy Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 HandBrake - Burns DVD's onto your Mac. It's the best one i've used. You Control Tunes - Like Growl Tunes but has a better design IMO, you don't notice how much better having one of these apps is until you've had it for a while. iSquint - For converting any video file so it works on iPhone/iPod. Cooliris - Makes searching and looking through images/video clips much quicker. It basically just displays all of the images on a long 3d wall and saves you having to open loads of new pages.
Daggers Posted 10 April 2010 Author Posted 10 April 2010 Kismac Welcome to the KisMAC wiki! KisMAC is an open-source and free sniffer/scanner application for Mac OS X. It has an advantage over MacStumbler / iStumbler / NetStumbler in that it uses monitor mode and passive scanning. KisMAC supports several third party PCMCIA cards: Orinoco, PrismII, Cisco Aironet, Atheros and PrismGT. USB devices with Intersil Prism2, Ralink rt2570 and rt73, and Realtek rtl8187 chipsets are in progress towards full support as well. All of the internal AirPort hardware is supported for scanning.
