In answer to the thread title question...

Is the pope catholic?

Drogba's very good, but a fully fit and on form Drogba vs a fully fit and on form Torres... there's only 1 winner for me, and that's Fernando.

David Villa says hello o/

There are other strikers playing outside of the premier league! Personally I would rate Drogba slightly ahead of a fit and motivated Torres as the best striker in the PL because he has a few qualities that Torres doesn't. They are both unbelievable players when on top of their game but Torres hasn't been playing well for over twelve months now which does drop him down the pecking order a bit.

Villa, Forlan, Eto, Higuain, Milito, even Ibrahimivic have all been consistantly better than Torres over the last two years. Not convinced that Torres is ever going to be the same player again as he looks like he is going the way of Michael Owen.

Torres is a sensational player when he's fit. To be fair, if Liverpool's boardroom antics are sorted out sharpish, they ship out the deadwood and bring in 3 or 4 quality players in January, provided Torres hasn't snapped a hamstring by then due to being overplayed when only 80% fit, he'll be back to his best.

Although I have to say I'm in agreement that Drogba is the best striker in the world. The guy's a fvcking monster. (And to anyone saying "yeah but look at some of his diving" - the majority of players, English included, dive at the top level. It's not just him.)
