mountsorrel fox Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 I think he is a class player too be honest. What do you think?
sdb Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 of course he's still a world class striker. if this injury never gets shaken off then maybe not but you have to assume it will. he's too good to suddenly become average, although there could be an Owen-esque decline should he prove to be a permanent sick-note
Sly Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 He's a goal scorer and in that he's a class act when fit. He doesn't contribute to over areas of play and I can think of other players I'd rather have than Torres if I had to choose a World XI.
Fox You Forest Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Probably the best around when he's on it, wasted at Liverpool.
Koke Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 I hope he goes to Chelsea or even Manchester City in the summer. A class player like him deserve to win major trophies.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 I dont think he is world class. He is a very good player, but how can he be considered world class when he is always injured? When he is on form he is world class, but he is never consistently fit. If I was offered a striker considered World Class, I wouldnt choose him, just because he is always injured. I dont like Drogba, but he isnt injured often and you cant argue how good he is.
Finnegan Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Jog on he isn't world class. He's not "always injured", he's just had an injury and is disaffected with life at Liverpool. Happy and fit he's the best out and out striker on the planet - how is that not world class?
Koke Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 It's only in the last 12-16 months where he's been plagued with injuries - and it hasn't helped that Liverpool have been too over-reliant on him at times to the point where they have rushed him back quicker than he should have. He's easily top 3 strikes in the world, IMO, alongside Drogba and Villa.

dandannieldanok Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Definitely needs to get out of Liverpool asap.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Fantastic player. Wouldn't look out of place at Real or Barca, and deserves much better than the crap at Liverpool. With their money troubles I think they'd accept a pretty knock-down price from another club. Anything less than £50m would be a bargain.
breadandcheese Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Definitely. Best striker in the world. Torres is world class, but he is not as good as Didier. Drogba is a beast.

Finnegan Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Rubbish. You just spuff all over Chelsea. If Drogba wasn't on our tellies every week then, sure, we'd still describe him as "one of the best" - but THE? Finesse before brute strength, please!

Drogba has it all, he's not just a powerhouse...
Finnegan Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Absolute codswallop. Drogba has it all, he's not just a powerhouse... True. He's an Olympic diver and an Oscar winning actor, to boot.
Mee Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 His heart is not in Liverpool. You need to love playing for who you play for to get the best out of yourself. He needs to move, to who? I have no clue, but somewhere he will fit in better. At the start he was hyped up, and on his day and when he is fit he is unplayable, just brilliant, but he is not playing to his best ability. The injury has just made his case worse. I can see him going in the summer, and it is for the best.
Corky Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Let's just say I think he'd improve our team. He's a terrific player, excellent goalscorer and not a tap-in merchant, scored some belting goals for the Pool.
Bert Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Ludicrous that Chelsea only paid £24 million for him from Marseille. Only! I think the main thing is with Torres, they keep rushing him back. When he's fully fit, he'll be fine again. Just looks the shadow of his former self at the minute.

Just looks the shadow of his former self at the minute. Seems daft to say 'only' £24 mill but he must have repaid that several times over with his goals for Chelsea. Without Drogba, they wouldn't be half the attacking force they are. With the amount of money thrown around now even greater, you'd have no chance of getting a player of Drogba's quality for that. As for Torres, the only way he's still going to be at Anfield next season is if their new owners decide to do a Man City and buy the quality needed to make a genuine title challenge. Other than that, he'll either go to Man City or back to Spain.
Samilktray Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Torres on his day is easily the best striker in world football, dont think any defender in the world would be able to stop him.
Mikey Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Is he a good player? Personally think Drogba is the best striker at the moment.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Torres on his day is easily the best striker in world football, dont think any defender in the world would be able to stop him. Drogba easily. Torres is a hell of a player, but only when fit and has service.
Samilktray Posted 13 October 2010 Posted 13 October 2010 Dont most strikers need service to score goals Daft.
