Swalker Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Yuki Abe ain't no winger. He is a classic defensive midfielder, quite similar to Makelele. He will never be a world-class winger. I thought that he has really shone in the last two games where both times he has been played on the right wing
JohnnieSpangles Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Completely agree, as I've said elsewhere. Trouble is we have such a deficiency in intellectual ability amongst our support that they think it is a; funny and b; related to Japan Any tvvat that sings that should be banned.
SPF07 Posted 31 October 2010 Author Posted 31 October 2010 I think people have missed the point of the discussion here. Undoubtedly Abe given time will be a good squad edition. But, as Sven is looking to progress towards the prem this year! a natural right sided winger assisting Naughton is a must. (Before everyone kicks off, Abe is good but he is not the answer to the right side) Abe did a good job, but with all due repect we should have been taking the game alot more to Preston in an attacking nature given how poor they were. Someone such as Giles Barnes who we watched single handedly destroy us in the cup and did so at a breeze could be a possibility given his absence from the WBA first team this year.
