I think he will be a key player before the end of the year, when he gets that understanding with his colleagues he will be a great asset. This, Abe will come on more and more, he can play wide right he did for his old team a number of times so this posiion is nothing new to him. Personally i think he will grow in confidence and become a great player for us! Don't forget he has come all the way from Japan, If you went to Japan do you (Topic author) think you would adapt instantly to their style of things? give the guy a chance!

artursteppe Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Yuki Abe was the second best player today, only after Miguel Vitors outstanding performance. He kept the ball well, his distribution was near perfect and he created Gallachers goal. He also allowed Kyle Naughton to get forward by covering. No evidence of communication problems here. was good to see him win a few tackles too. Only thing i would say, is that he could do with being slightly stronger, but that will come. Absolutely right. But to go further they were our best two players against the Albion on Tuesday as well! I told a lot of people to watch them both, before yesterday's game. They did and now they are converted. They are both real quality and will inevitably get better as they get used to the style of football in the Championship and their team mates. Not everyone can recognise real talent when it's there. Sven and I can!

Totally agree, the eat your dog chant is plain racist (and wrong) we wouldn't sing anything similar if to a black player, or even if he spoke English. But yeah the Yuki give us a wave was funny, he didn't even notice. The "Doesn't understand" chant was to the tune of "This is the best trip" and I think it was: He don't understand, he don't understand, he's Yuki Abe, He doesn't understand! Which was funny. ithuriel Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Up until yesterday i was not quite sure about mr Abe but after the game against Preston i could find nothing wrong with his performance, in fact the entire team worked well apart from the strikers still not converting since Gallagher was not playing in that position. Abe must have impressed Sven with that performance and if he can maintain it in coming games he will soon be a firm fans favourite.

Yeah i suppose, but would that really matter? cause Gally or Waggy would want to take it anyway, Maybe the old Matty Fryatt Chant with Yuki Abe instead, a chant that isnt hard for the players to here properly.

Ps I hope he is a quick learner in language terms. from what everyone is saying is that his Language is greatly improving, he has already grasped the key terms such as man on ect, he will be joined by his family in December which should help also
