SPF07 Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I want to get opinions on this guy? I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the fact that we continue to play him. Yes he was much better today, Yes he runs alot and Yes he puts in alot of effort. However, i'm concerned that he is being played out of position in favour of players that can do a better job in that position. If like Sven says we are trying to push towards the Premier League, then surely he should have identified our right wing as a position that needs strengthening. Quite the opposite appears to be happening. In the last two games he has favoured keeping Abe on the pitch and putting Dany up front today, and replacing our top goal scorer King against WBA when we needed a goal at 2.1. Does anyone else think that their is something suspect in this, I.E its a case of something in his contract that says he must play % of games or the fact that the owners have requested he plays due to revenue streams that result in Asia?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I was of the opinion he was god damn awful before 3:00. Hes won me over abit today
Corky Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Being played out of position isn't his fault, he's asked to play there. Ideally it would be better if Moussa or Dyer was there because they are natural wingers, but Abe didn't let the team down at all today.

SMX11 Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I don't understand the hatred for Yuki. I think he will be a key player before the end of the year, when he gets that understanding with his colleagues he will be a great asset.

Babylon Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I don't understand the hatred for Yuki. Perhaps you should start a thread asking why people hate him, they are all the rage.
Mee Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I think he had a very good game today. Before today i wasn't sure about him, but he is certainly a decent enough player, although I don't thing we have seen the best of him yet.
davieG Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Am more relevant question would be why are Fryatt and Waghorn so bad?
hotdogfox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Yuki Abe was the second best player today, only after Miguel Vitors outstanding performance. He kept the ball well, his distribution was near perfect and he created Gallachers goal. He also allowed Kyle Naughton to get forward by covering. No evidence of communication problems here. was good to see him win a few tackles too. Only thing i would say, is that he could do with being slightly stronger, but that will come.
ajthefox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I was of the opinion he was god damn awful before 3:00. Hes won me over abit today On what basis did you judge him as god damn awful before today? He had barely played for us and when he had it was out of position. There must be a reason he has done so well for Japan, and I'll bet that there are very few/if any players in our squad that would have a number of caps even close to what Abe has for Japan were they Japanese.
sdb Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Can't believe some people basically wrote him off 5 mins into his career here. How many players make instant impacts at clubs? Not many. If every player who fails to light up LCFC in their first few games gets the kind of abuse being thrown about here every day, this club's gonna go one way only, and it won't be up.
Shipman Out Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 A new country, a new culture, a new manager, a new position, a new league, a different football culture, a new manager, another new manager... Give the guy a break, we won't see the best of Abe till next season, he looked great holding when he came on at norwich away quick incisive passing always wanted the ball moved the ball on quickly and forward.
1964FOX Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I have liked him from his first game, he has been played out of position and made some mistakes but I believe you can just sense a class player and I think he is. Certain things he does tells me we could have one hell of a player on our team for the future.
Bugg Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 At the start of the game, some gimp in L1 booed him when his name was read out. What a gimp.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 He was arguably the best player on the pitch today. He didn't give them any time on the ball and chased everything down, put in some perfect crosses and tracked back really well when he needed to. If he can consistently produce performances like that he'll be an important part of the team. Also agree about Vitor btw, brilliant game today.
Shipman Out Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Radio? Radio? You talkin to me? It's all gone taxi driver If you are talking to me with regards radio I'm assuming you mean did I listen to norwich game on radio? No I went hence aaying he looked good there, how can you judge a performance on the radio
Mee Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 At the start of the game, some gimp in L1 booed him when his name was read out. What a gimp. I heard this also, what a nob. On another note, I was sat behind four 15 (or so) year olds who all had bloody blow through horn things, and my god they were annoying.
Finnegan Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Radio? Unlikely, chap, even Stringer was raving about him today.
cc_star Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Abe is good, will be great It's our forward-line who needs questioning, seriously has any team ever missed more chances?????,

Jimothy Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Bloke in front of me cheered every player as their name was read out bar Abe who he just shook his head to. Thought he had a very good game today. Looked shaky in an early exchange of passes with Naughton that led to a chance for Preston, but after that he settled. Worked well with Naughton, attacked well and found space and showed some decent touches.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 I thought he was our best player today, Naughton and Vitor were arguably as good but i don't think anybody else came even close.
