Foxblogger Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 First of all, I must apologise for the blatant plug for my blog contained within this topic, but podcasting is an area which doesn't seem to have any representation since the end of Foxpodder, so I hope I'll be forgiven. Anyway, yesterday I spoke with a few Leicester fans who I'd met through Twitter and asked them to give me thier thoughts on yesterday's game. It's a fairly straightforward piece of audio which is basically cribbing the format from the old Foxpodder podcasts. You can have a listen to it here - http://foxblogger.wordpress.com What I'd really like is your thoughts on the above and other features you'd like to see. What sort of content would interest you? Indeed, would a Leicester City podcast be something you'd be interested in listening to at all? If not, are there particular reasons? It was really good fun to record and everyone seemed to enjoy taking part. The next opportunity I'll have to record having taken your comments on board will be after the Watford game in early December. If you'd be interested in taking part please let me know.

What i'd like to see is a live podcast with phone in option to rival the Monday night moan in. Basically the Monday night show has gone completely downhill and is now just a platform for Stringer, Daggers and whoever else to spout drivel for an hour.

How long has he been there then?

The technical issues with doing something live is something I'd need to explore, so thanks for the feedback. Certainly it would be very easy to set up a dedicated Skype line where people could leave messages. Live is something I hadn't considered before, but its definately worth looking at.
Jackirius Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Hey, I've been reading your blog for quite a while now and really enjoy doing so. I've just listened to the podcast and think it will be a very welcome addition. I don't get to as many games as i would like, and like reading your blog (and now listening to your podcast) to get a reasoned opinion on how we played. You could maybe do your own section for the podcasts and vamp the podcast player up a bit. Keep up the great work
thybluefox Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 I very much enjoyed taking part - I think its really important that sane fans are given a chance to express their views as Radio Leicester only seem to give airtime to people if they're going to say something stupid or controversial, IMO the 95% of the people that they have on their represent 5% of the supporters. Excellent job Foxblogger!
Foxblogger Posted 31 October 2010 Author Posted 31 October 2010 Thanks for the feedback guys. As an experiment, would anyone be interested in taking part in a Skype conference call next Sunday to review the Barnsley game? (Skype not required at your end, by the way, just mine so I can record the conversation.) I'm currently considering the following features for the podcast; - Live interviews when I am able to attend matches - Conference calls when I am unable to attend - Setting up a Skype phone number where people can leave messages (like the 606 rant line, but hopefully with less of the ranting) - Recording audio previews for each match, with say, the top 5 stats to look out for or something along those lines - An email address where people can send recordings of their thoughts (similar to the skype line but with better audio quality). Also people can send other audio such as new/good songs What do you think?
broughtonblue Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Excellent podcast. As somebody as already said it's nice to get an unbiased view. As for your other ideas/ projects, bring em on. Just one question, is there any way I can download your podcasts on iPod so I can listen to them at work?
