I hope he has a good compo package written into that contract because this will finish his managerial career.

Actually, I think you'll find that Pardew is good mates with their managing director Derek Llambias - they've been engineering this move for the last month according to a fair few sources, only until now the results have been so good they hadn't dared make the move, now at the first time of a downturn in results they've taken the opportunity to make the switch. Its nothing to do with proper managers being disgusted, its only to do with this being what they'd always wanted.
