Edmund Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Absolutely shocking. Promotion last season and an excellent start to life in the Premiership this term round.
Corky Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Absolutely ridiculous, they're in a decent league position and have had some excellent results this season. Who's going to want that job now?
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 A few Newcastle fans I know off another forum saw this one coming. Apparently yesterday's loss was the final straw. Bizarre really given some of the results they had been getting.
Wymsey Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Disgrace, doubt their expectations were high this season after all
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Rumours going around that O'Neill will be in by the weekend.
lcfcsnow Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 I can see why they've done it, hard to judge a manager with the quality of squad they had last season, and that form walking the league has helped the good start. I guarantee he won't have a successful career in managerment, strikes me as a number two.
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 From their OS; Regrettably the board now feels an individual with more managerial experience is needed to take the club forward. So much for giving younger managers a chance!
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Newcastle fans are livid on their forum. I would be too! They despise Ashley to the core.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 They seem to be very inconsistent, but they are looking like they will easily stay up, so seems a stupid decision. Funny if they went down now.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 He's done a cracking job working on a shoestring. He's even made Andy Carroll look a decent top flight striker. Really can't see why anyone would want the job considering who'd they'd be working under, wouldn't be a good fit for O'Neill in my opinion. Mike Ashley really is a prize bell.

I guarantee he won't have a successful career in managerment, strikes me as a number two. If they were bottom and totally inept then I could understand it, but they are comfortable in the table, above Liverpool, Everton and Villa who were in the top 8 last season. They've had some disappointing results lately but promoted sides generally do have a poor run at some point. Don't understand the timing of it.
Jackirius Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Ridiculous, promotion and then 11th in the Premiership? What more can i guy do? It's not like Newcastle are pumping millions into their squad like Man City, then it might be a little agreeable.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 What more can i guy do? Demolish the team they despise 5-1? Beat Arsenal at the Emirates? Oh, wait...
broughtonblue Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Sky sports news have Sven joint 4th as his replacement at 10/1
Wymsey Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Sky sports news have Sven joint 4th as his replacement at 10/1 Not surprised really
sdb Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 So harsh. Was starting to like Newcastle too, after years of hating them. Hope they go on to struggle now. They were awful yesterday but obviously that's not reason enough.
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 So harsh. Was starting to like Newcastle too, after years of hating them. Hope they go on to struggle now. They were awful yesterday but obviously that's not reason enough. Bit harsh on the thousands of fans against one man, no?
Finnegan Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Ridiculous. I thought he was way out of his depth when they went down and I was amazed they kept him on in the Championship. But fair play to him he kept it all together and has been faultless really. What more were they expecting?
Mee Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Ridiculous, he has got them up and for them mid table. Stupid decision. Martin O'Neill?
FoxyPV Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Farcical decision - they are a newly promoted club who are sitting safely in mid table and so far this season have beaten Arsenal, drawn with Cchelsea and tanked Sunderland
Jackirius Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Who are these ****** which wait behind the Sky Sports News reporters outside ST James's and just wave and pull faces. Do they seriously not have anything better to do?
