Send him out on loan to a Club in League One or League Two for the rest of the season to give him first team experience, then gradually bring him into the first team.

At 17 he's a bit young to be sending him out on loan imo.

RELEVANT:

Louis Dodds: Mid-table League Two side.

Billy Kee: Mid-table League Two side.

Ashley Chambers: Loaned halfway around the country and never stuck, current in the BS.

Chris O'Grady: Mid-table League One side.

Alan Sheehan: League One.

They have all found their levels - none of which are par with us.

You're essentially a footballing Nostradamus. If you rave about enough of our academy talent then eventually you'll get lucky with one or two of them and they'll slip their way in, a la Andy King. Even the best academies around the country will only ever produce an Andy King once every few years. And even then, for the most part, they earn their stripes by being passed out on loan to lower levels to try and prove their worth.

Stearman wasn't, Mattock wasn't, King wasn't. Why? Because they were good enough, because we had managers that saw promise in them and gave them exposure to the senior team. It does happen when they're good enough.

You just want it to happen for a whole bunch of lads who evidently aren't good enough. They can't all be Wayne Rooney, Thracian. Most won't make it at this level - that's why they're trialled at lower ones first and why most of them stick there.

You're argument about Nostradamus and what is relevent might be good for effect but has nothing to do with what I've ever said or thought.

I have never once "raved" about Dodds, Kee, Chambers or O'Grady in terms of our first team. Of Dodds and O'Grady I said only that they were a better short term bet than the shit we were using and so that's proved. Kee and Chambers were always injured and never in serious contention.

So that leaves Sheehan, who actually did much to help Leeds into the play offs during his first season after being offered a new contract here by the professionals you so admire. And that's not to say I didn't and don't have reservations about his defending and penchant for getting sent off. Cos I do.

I have reservations about the defending of those who succeeded him too but, unlike Sheehan, none of those are the dead ball specialists we've so desperately needed. Cos we were highly dangerous from corners when Sheehan took em. And free kicks.

As for Mattock being "good enough", that's your opinion. I always disagreed.

Probably best to give him a game before some lower league team come in and sweep him up and then atleast we can see if hes good enough to play at senior leverl :scarf:

lol lol I'm sorry but come off it. And don't challenge me to go shuffling through four or five years of posting to prove you wrong.

You're well aware that the vast majority of the forum knows that's complete pump, especially in the case of Louis "best finisher at the club" Dodds.

I think you missed the option of 'who?' because we signed him expected so much of him and now don't even hear of him. Until the other day when I heard someone talking about him I forgot about him.
