My scariest footballing moment..

Just back from 5-a-side at goals, I was just about to receive the ball and decided to dummy and as I did a lad came through the back of me (got the ball) but I went over funny on my left leg and heard a massive crack.

I was nearly crying (not from the pain) as I thought I would never play football again. The knee clicked back into place and it feels a bit sore, but I think I got away with that one.

Will see how it is in the morning and if it''s stil bad will get it checked out.

Very scary as I've never broke a bone in my body ever.

Sounds like you had a lucky escape mate, count your blessings! :D

I'm sure you'll be fine, Shum. :) I remember doing something similar with my knee, but it turned out to be fine after initially being a little sore.

Cheers peoples.

Had ice on it for a while, but still very sore from Knee right down to ankle. Think I will get it checked out just incase.

Well people, just back from the hospital...nothing to do with the knee!

Torn Ankle Ligaments... no football for 4-6 weeks :(

Cheers chuck.

On another note, people slate the health service... but I was in and out of the hospital in less than an hour and had 2 x-rays so not that bad really.

thats good service that is shum 2 hours in and out, i broke my wrist about 8 years ago and it took about 3 or 4 hours so not that bad.

Gutted for you mate that you cant play football for 4-6 weeks because i know how much you like to play it every week nearly, but at least nowts broken :) and if it was a torn cruciate ligament u wouldave been ut for about 7 months :o so at least it wasnt that bad :) hope it gets better soon :yesyes:

Sorry to hear that, Shum. :( Hopefully you'll be fine for the next kickabout.

Damn, what a bummer.

Make sure you let the ligaments heal properly before you play again.

Hope it gets better soon, Shum. :(

It's no fun!

I did my knee ligaments in playing five-a-side. I was chasing a ball up when I realised I was about to not only go into the area, but also wipe the keeper out, I pulled up and my knee just gave up on me!

Not the worst bit, I had to drive home (my mates still had two games to play)and it was my left knee, imagine the pain of changing gear on the 10 min drive back to my house.

I did the same thing a year later playing eleven a side and I've never been the same since that's getting on to 6 years ago (still hurts even now).

You were lucky, just take it easy for a week or so, don't push your luck!

Shum - Everyone knows that you are 1 day older than me - So I think it's time to face facts

At our age we really should consider giving up this footy malarky steinigung.gif
