Travelling by Train

Could anyone give me some advice about travelling to away games by train. I am thinking about going to Derby by train but have travelled this way before. Do you get much trouble when you arrive by train or when you go to the station after the match ? I am taking my 7 year old son next week so want it to be as safe as possible

I've never had any trouble travelling on a train, and I go to a lot of aways by train. Sometimes there is a police escort (Fores last year) but other than that, train travel is very safe.
