I think what he says about how the fans who watched him for their club will remember him is true. He really was fantastic for us and one of my favourite LCFC players ever. I'm not too sure he was that popular with most of the squad at Leicester during the MON years and I think that, in part, was down to his immaturity. But I think the crucial thing is that they all respected what he did for the team. As did the fans. If ever there's been a player that as a supporter you know is putting as much effort in as you would be, it was Savage. Yes I was disappointed when he left and by his antics when he came back with/when we went to Brum, but that is Savage. The one thing he never did have was a brain and I don't think he was smart enough to think that he could get a decent reception from us, and that he didn't really have to behave like that in front of Leicester supporters. If ever there was going to be a club's fans that he didn't have to have on his back it would be us. I gave him the stick along with everyone else when he was playing against us for Derby as well. But I knew that the day he retired (and would no longer be playing against us), would be the day that any animosity towards the guy would end from me. Robbie Savage: Leicester City Legend
ajthefox Posted 2 September 2011 Posted 2 September 2011 Savage, who in his playing days cultivated a career as the game’s most hated figure, is brash, in your face, opinionated and proud Give over. I admire him for what he did with us but he's still a cock and I have to say I think this whole "marmite" thing with him is a little exaggerated. Reading parts of that article made me cringe.
