Thracian Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 I don't suppose many of you are into poetry but if anyone's looking for a personalised stocking filler for yourself, a relative or friend, can I point you towards my first book. Footsteps Across a Miracle is published worldwide by Xlibris and can be purchased in softback or E-book format directly from the publisher or via Amazon and many other distributors. But for those living locally you can get a signed and personally dedicated copy by either calling at my stall on Leicester Market (Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays) or by arrangement at any City home game. The price is £8 of which £5-50p goes to the publisher and £2.50p to charity. The book - an anthology of poems and cryptic philosophies - was written as a gift for a friend in America who lost her first husband in the Flight 587 plane crash on November 12, 2001, itself a poignant story. One of the poems relates to Leicester Market and another, the subject of the cover picture, was inspired by a trip to Twycross Zoo with my grandson. A second book is due out in the New Year dedicated to my son's partner who sadly died in childbirth at the beginning of last summer. For a signed copy of "Fotsteps" you can contact me at [email protected], ring me on 07973-407834 or simply call at the stall.
General Smuts Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 That number is going to get raped by prank phone calls by certain FT members. Rookie mistake.
Rincewind Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Did I give you a copy of my 'Creaky Bones' collection to look at? I am currently revising it with the intention of just doing it as an E-book. I cannot afford to do it as a hardback. Anyway as you know getting a book published through the normal channels is not easy. Unless you a 'celeb' or an established author you have little chance especially poetry.. Have to write a quick story or essay now on the subject of 'Where I would go for Xmas if I won the lottery' It's for a writers group meeting at 1.30pm. I have no idea TBH. I would just get my finances straight then visit my relatives, Then depending how much it is think about my situation in the new year and mabe take early retirement living off the interest instead of JSA so I wont be hassled by them. I do have an idea for a story. Got about 2 hours to do it.
