broughtonblue Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Just looking at the back of the home programmes I have from this season, I have lent 2 out so haven't got the full collection in front of me, but on those I have got, all the teams that have visited have more players listed. I know this doesn't include players out on loan but from the media it would seem we have such a big squad other clubs are really jealous, when in reality theirs are the same size if not bigger.

Broughton, I have noticed exactly the same and commented on it to fellow supporters. Even very "small" clubs seem to have a much larger squad. Maybe they just include every Tom, Dick & Harry on their books; or maybe they hand out contracts more readily to their academy players than we do. If we are much more selective in who we include in our squad, then we must assume that the standard of our squad is much higher than that of other clubs (???).
