It wasn't directly aimed at you more as response to wherethefoxhat's comment after yours, and plenty of people have said that our turn in form has come about because King isn't playing and some are actually glad he is injured.

I'm never glad if any players are injured. God knows we need as many fit players in the squad as possible.

I've always liked King, but I do think his physical size and strength limit the midfield defensively.

I absolutely agree that we look more solid, defensively, with Kingy not in the side. For this reason he would now be down my pecking order of midfield players, even when fit.

It's a bit early to tell but Drinkwater looks a better bet than King in shoring up that midfield area.

Ahhhhh it's all my fault is it ?

I would never wish one of our players injured so i certainly hope your'e not including me in that .

I must admit though to coming away from the majority of games this season with my mates and the question has been "What did King actually do today except run around on the periphery of the action."

There is no proof that our massive improvement is directly down to his absence ......i think that it's a number of factors !

Absolutely...

King has been no worse than anyone else to be fair but I wanted a tougher midfield.

i really like wellens and danns in midfield atm. drinkwater can play wide until we get a winger then he can perhaps come on for wellens or danns as a sub and see how he gets on. I think thats better than just starting an unknown combo inplace of one that was working, be a silly imo, if he come on as a sub and did well and one of danns or wellens were playing poorly then i think it would be the right time to start him cm next game.

This is ridiculous. We wait all season for back to back wins, we get them in style, and there are people wanting to change the team? Why? Makes no sense to me.

Drinkwater will get his chance. No rush at the mo.

didn't think wellens really played well against southampton tbh

however i thought drinkwater did brilliantly when he came on

First half v Southampton Wellens passed to their players about 15 times, its there on film, how anyone can say he had a good game weren't watching the bloke. One attempt at a shot in the first half and one in the second that where both schoolboy poor. Watch the game again and check !

i voted yes but THIS overall

The improvement to the team over the last two games is Danns work rate, we have been seriously slow and that as been our biggest problem. Danns is playing like Savage, not the most talented player but he;s everywhere and with Dyers running we've not let the oppo settle and when we've got the ball, its moved forward faster, instead of Wellens slowing things down to a standstill, letting the oppo get into place and face our attack. We have known that the midfield as been garbage for a few years now, the difference is the players who have come in, not regulars improving !
