Time for change?

As we all know, Fifa are somewhat against change in football, it has taken them years to try and implement goal line technology in to the game, but is it time to go beyond that?

Would a form of review system work in football?

Each team has 3 reviews in a game, If a player dives for a penalty or if a goal is given but we all know the goal shouldn't have stood, The captain/Manager could ask for a review, This would eliminate all the cheats and the end result would be left in no doubt!

This also limits the manager/captain from constantly stopping the game. it would take 10-15 seconds per incident and would change the game for the better.

There a lots of proactive ideas that could be forwarded.

But with Blatter in charge you are pissing on the wind.

The review system would also decrease the amount of time players spend shouting, gesticulating and surrounding the referee - this in itself can slow a game down so there wouldn't necessarily be a huge problem with breaking up the flow of the game by allowing reviews (I would only say 2 per game so they are used wisely and don't cause too much disruption).

More importantly though it would give a public, objective review of a referees performance - referees could be ranked by how many incorrect decisions they make which could hopefully encourage higher standards of refereeing.

I quite like the idea. But yeah, it will never happen.
